Recently, my wife wrote something that struck a cord in my heart and I'd like to share it with you. It has been said that a little encouragement goes a long, long way. I pray that you will be encouraged by these authentic words of encouragement written by my lifetime love, Robyn.
"You may not be able to rewind the clock, but you can definitely, at any moment, wind it up and start it over again. In other words, don't fall into the sneaky trap of regret. A measure of regret can be a healthy motivator to learn from your mistake or misstep and be determined to not repeat it. But to succumb to the swallowing jaws of endless regret will only cause you to squander your NOW, by spending it trying to re-live the past. Warning, this is a trap! You cannot re-live or re-make the past. God knows I've tried. So believe me when I say, if it were possible, I would have already found a way to do it and done it! You have to come to terms with this truth. The past is only good for one thing, and that is, to be learned from. (Unless of course it's a happy memory that continues to serve you joy.)
Instead of wasting your present on trying to resurrect your past, choose to live in your present. Really live, and not just exist. Choose to look honestly at yesterday and learn every lesson it has to teach you. Choose to take those lessons into your present and live in your present like everyday could be your last. Live it with excitement, sincerity, and authenticity, not shrouded by the shame of your past sins, failures or mistakes. Learn to live free in your reality of FORGIVEN, and maybe one day soon you'll decide it's time to wind the clock of your life back up again, and get on with your amazing unfinished life!” - Robyn Hancock
