Dearest friends and family:
“The steps of the God-pursuing ones follow firmly in the footsteps of the Lord, and God delights in every step they take to follow Him.” Psalm 37:23 (The Passion Translation)
I’m so thankful that when we are pursuing the plan and will of God for our lives, the Lord takes delight in each and every step we take to follow Him. That’s really good news! It matters that we are seeking first the will of the King of the Kingdom because then we will always be in the right place at the right time and getting the right results. That’s something to shout about!
On September 26, just two months ago, my wife and I set out on a new adventure in our walk of faith in following the plan and call of God for our lives. This was a huge step of faith for us to resign our pastorate at Faith Family Maui and to embrace a new phase of our lives and ministry for Jesus. I truly thought that we would live out the rest of our days on Maui and embrace the traveling ministry from Hawaii to the rest of the world from our island home. But the Lord had other plans and His plans are better than anything we could ever plan on our own.
Even though fear can sometimes be nipping at our heels as we step out of our comfort zone and familiar surroundings, Jesus is always faithful to meet us at the point of our faith. We are truly on the increase and being positioned to reach far beyond the shores of Maui, Hawaii to the rest of the world. Yes, the world is calling and I must obey God and go.
I’m thankful that Jesus reminds us continually in Mark 11:22 to “have faith in God.” The life of faith is truly an adventurous life filled with many natural uncertainties, but on the other hand, it is filled with greater certainties. The certainties are always greater than the uncertainties. And one of the greatest certainties we have is the assurance that we are in the will of God and following His peace in our hearts.
Even though Robyn and I physically left lots of friends and our spiritual family on Maui, we haven’t really left at all. We are and will always be family. And Faith Family Maui will never be fully rid of us as we will be returning to see our precious family as the Lord leads. Herman and Carol Haupu are doing a tremendous job of pastoring Faith Family Maui and we remain very close friends and in frequent contact. It’s truly all about fulfilling the call of God. Thank you for believing God with us as we have now fully embraced this new phase of our lives and ministry in our new home in Huntington Beach, California. I am grateful for your continued prayers as you make mention of us before the throne of our King.
I know that many of you have been wondering how Robyn and I are doing, so it’s time to send an update to let you know how things are progressing on our end of things. We have always been firm believers in mixing our faith with medicine. It’s the natural and supernatural coming together that bring about miraculous results. Robyn has been blessed with a doctor that has pin-pointed many things for her that have been the root cause of her medical and mental dilemma. He has prescribed her a course of treatment and she is improving both physically and mentally. I am fully confident that we will see her back again at full strength before very long, serving God and enjoying the life that she has been so blessed to live and enjoy. I can’t thank you enough for standing with us through all the thick and thin and the personal details that many of you know. May God richly bless you for your faithfulness to us personally, as well as to the ministry that has been entrusted into our hands.
It’s quite different living here in Southern California compared to island life on Maui. We have settled in our new apartment home and are quite content where the Lord has led us. I haven’t lived in an apartment since my college days, but truthfully, it has been quite nice. If something needs fixing or adjusting in our apartment home, all I have to do is call maintenance. It’s nice not having to be concerned about doing something yourself or finding a handy man to rectify the problem. I don’t have to be concerned about mowing the lawn, cleaning up outside, painting, trash pickup, etc. There’s a lot less responsibilities when you live in an apartment. I don’t know if we will live in this location for a short or long while. I’ve just decided to enjoy the present and rest in the assurance that my life is truly in the hands of God. He is ever so faithful to all of us.
Another thing that is quite different living in Southern California is the bumper to bumper traffic and driving on the crazy freeways. Each trip in the car is a new experience, ha! I used to complain about the traffic on Maui, but I won’t be doing that anymore. For those of you that still live on Maui, trust me – the traffic isn’t really that bad. I’m thankful that the Lord has given me much grace to live and drive here. I’m really not complaining at all as we are enjoying life here very immensely.
I also know that many of our partners and spiritual family are wondering what we are doing in regard to the ministry. We have decided to set up an entirely different ministry organization that is separate from Faith Family Maui. Just a couple of weeks ago, Wayne Hancock Ministries International, Inc. was officially formed and registered with the state of California and the federal government. We now have an entirely new 501-c3 non-profit corporation along with a brand-new bank account. Our website at www.waynehancock.org is continually being updated to reflect these changes.
In April of 2018, I will begin to do more traveling and helping pastors and their churches as the Lord leads and He opens the doors of opportunity for me to do so. It has always been a personal conviction of mine to simply believe God for the funds to be able do to this without ever putting any financial requirements on any pastor or church to host my ministry. If someone wants to help, then that’s fine, but it will not be required or asked of the host church to do so. I actually started doing this over twenty years ago. Now that I will be in the full-time traveling ministry instead of part-time, I don’t plan on changing that now.
At the present, my plans are to minister in April in Hawaii, Fiji, and New Zealand. Australia is also a possibility in April, but we shall see how the Lord directs these steps. Canada and Malawai (Africa) are also on the horizon, as well as other churches here in the US. Please pray and believe God with me to continue to be in the right place at the right time.
I have never been one to make strong pleas for money, but at the same time, I do realize the importance of having a strong financial base in order for me to go where the Lord calls me to go. If you would like to join our ministry with your financial support, that would be amazing. I am truly thankful for any amount of support you may be willing to invest in this ministry.
We have a brand-new ministry mailing address, which is listed on this letterhead, where you can mail your seed, if you choose to do so. Our website also has a page where you can give very efficiently online. In addition to online giving, we have established a new “text-to-give” number for WHMI. For those of you that know me and I have had the privilege to pastor, you know that this method is my personal preference to give because it’s so simple and easy to use.
Regardless of whether you support our ministry financially or not, Robyn and I truly do love you and covet your faith and prayers as we navigate this new phase of our ministry. Once again, thank you for believing God with us as we fully embrace our calling and seek first the Kingdom of God in all that we do.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous 2018. I will write again after the new year to give you an update on our lives and ministry.
We always win!
