Dearest Faith Family:
Surprise, surprise! Yes, you’re finally receiving a ministry update from me. I realize that it has been quite a while, so I will do my best to not allow this letter to turn into a novel (even though I’ve often thought about trying to write one).
I trust that you and your loved ones are faring well and winning on every front. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like we are winning, but if we will stick with it, we always come out victorious no matter what the circumstances may presently be. Faith in God and His unchanging Word always cause us to triumph!
Since our last communication, we have relocated to beautiful Franklin, Tennessee (Nashville) and have left California. I guess you could say that I have returned to my southern roots, at least for now. We have officially survived winter and are now enjoying spring. This was our first real winter in 23 years (we officially arrived Nashville in January). It was a very mild winter compared to most other places around the world. We managed to survive a dusting of snow one day that was gone in a matter of an hour, but we did get to see it for a short period of time. I’m not really sure whether that’s a good thing or not, so I’m just going to report the facts and let you decide, ha!
I haven’t written or published any video updates regarding how Robyn is doing, simply because things haven’t changed much at all with her mental health over the past six months. We’re still working our faith, visiting doctors, and believing for a better outcome than it is presently. It has continued to be very challenging, to say the least, but our eyes are focused on Jesus through it all. He is our ultimate source of supply for all of our needs – spiritually, mentally and emotionally, and well as physically and financially.
Because I’m able to leave and travel for short periods of time, I am making myself available for ministry and speaking engagements for my pastor friends who would have me. Since leaving our pastorate on Maui in September 2017, I’ve had the privilege to minister a few times. I’m called of God to minister His Word, and I have really missed doing so, even though I know I have been honored to fulfill my number one ministry and that is to my wife and family. Please believe God with me for open doors in 2019 to once again minister God’s Word as He makes the opportunities available.
In addition to our traveling ministry, I am also continuing to run my photography business to help supplement our financial needs. I am also venturing into real estate to help with our income when I am not traveling or ministering. You may see me posting some things about this in the future on my Facebook page, which I hope doesn’t offend anybody. The apostle Paul was a tent maker, which helped subsidize his financial needs, and I’m a photographer and a realtor — so I must be in good company to also own my own business.
For those of you who may be wondering, I’ve changed the name of our previous Facebook page (Faith Family Maui) that I created on my personal account years and years ago. The new Facebook page name is Faith Family International. Our page was previously used primarily for the church on Maui, but because of the challenge of giving somebody access to my Facebook on Maui, it was much easier to just change the page name and allow the church to setup a new page if they desired.
Our daughter and son-in-law have been here in Nashville visiting with us this month, which has been amazing. It’s quite difficult having our family separated with part still on Maui while we are here on the mainland. I pray the Lord allows this to change very very soon.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank those of you who text, message, and email us from time to time. Your love and support mean so very much us both. Your faith and encouragement ministers to us deeply.
God’s Word is eternally true. It is always in our hearts, before our eyes, and on our lips. I trust that each of us will give God’s Word this place daily as we all trust Him to continue to order our steps and each phase of our lives, family, and ministry. Robyn has been doing a bit of writing lately and I will be sharing some of her inspiration with you very soon, so be on the lookout for that.
You are so very loved, valued, and appreciated. Thank you for your faith, love, continued confidence, trust, and financial support. Together, we are all making a difference in this difficult world.
We always win!
