“Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.” – 2 Corinthians 12:10 (MSG)
We are living in a day and age where we must be more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and His power more than ever before. There’s so very much that’s on the line for many of us – health, relationships, and even financial provision because of the situations we’ve all faced. I have many friends and family members who have been put through many challenging circumstances recently – simply put, they’ve had “bad breaks.” Even personally, Robyn and I have experienced many “bad breaks,” but that doesn’t stop us from moving forward and allowing our faith in Jesus to carry us through to the other side.
There’s absolutely nothing that happens to us in life that can stop the Father’s divine destiny for each of us from coming to pass. Disease can’t stop it. Bad relationships can’t stop it. Lack of support from family can’t stop it. Lack of financial provision can’t stop it. Nothing can take your divine destiny, unless you simply give up and quit. Nothing on the outside can steal what has been placed by our Creator on the inside of you. Your destiny will come to pass, regardless of the bad breaks that you may have experienced. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and will encourage you in your walk of faith following Jesus.
While seeking the Lord for His direction in my life and ministry for 2018, I sensed the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to me regarding the importance of the anointing of God. You and I have both heard it said and taught many times, and its truth bears repeating still today. It’s the anointing of the Holy Spirit that makes the difference in our lives. It’s the power of God that comes along, fills the gap and makes up the difference between our limited strength and the complete fulfillment of the promises of God, concerning our divine destiny. We must remind ourselves continually, that it’s the anointing of the Holy Spirit, that makes up the difference between our ability to win and live victoriously, despite the bad breaks that life sometimes throws at us along the way.
We must have the anointing of the Holy Spirit – without question and without fail. And, praise be to Jesus, we do have the anointing. He had made His anointing, His burden removing, yoke destroying power, available to each and every Christian. The anointing is available to help lead us and show us what to do, when we don’t know what to do. The anointing comes to strengthen us when we are in our weakest state. That’s what the above scripture is talking about, we let Christ (the anointed One and His anointing) take over. Then, the weaker we may seemingly become against whatever “bad break” has come our way, the stronger we actually become, because of the power of God’s anointing. It’s the anointing, that makes up the difference between our weakness and ability to receive all that God’s Word says that we can have. When I am weak, it’s then that I become truly strong – strong in the power of God working on my behalf.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit is available to bring our Father’s absolute richest and best to us. It’s the anointing of Father’s power working through us, that enriches our lives with all that pleases Father. Don’t ever forget about the anointing in your life. The anointing is as close as your next breath. The anointing lives and abides on the inside of you, through the person of the Holy Spirit.
I’ve said it before and I will always say it, if I was the devil, I would do everything within my power to get the Christian to completely forget about the Holy Spirit. Thankfully, I’m not the devil, contrary to what others may think, hahaha! But, I do believe that this is one of hell’s top strategies against the Christian – to cause them to get so overwhelmed with their “bad break,” that they completely forget about the Holy Spirit and His power, that is available to all that will receive.
I’ve put this into practice in my own life, and I believe it will help you too if you put it to practice in your life. Learn to acknowledge the Holy Spirit in every affair of life. Learn to check-in with Him on all of your decision making, especially the big life-altering decisions. Learn to check-in with Him every day, even in the small things that don’t seem as important, because many of the small things can end up being big things in the end. Don’t depend on your strength and ability for anything at all, but do depend on His strength and ability.
I personally believe that it’s important to acknowledge our own weaknesses and limitations and simply take ownership of them, then and at the same time acknowledge the strength and power of God and take ownership of His strength and unlimited ability. Remember, the anointing of the anointed One lives on the inside of you right now. The greater One on the inside is working on your behalf on the outside, even at this very moment, regardless of what things may look or feel like. Just keep acknowledging the Holy Spirit and continually check-in with Him as to what He wants, and then settle for nothing less than His will. You can trust Him. You can trust the anointing of His power to help you every day and in every way.
Knowledge of the anointing of the Holy Spirit is foundational for every believer. Always keep your foundation strong by giving it regular maintenance, even if it seems too elementary. Why? It’s the basics that sustain us daily and provide us a foundation in which we walk by faith, not some new fandangled or greatest and latest revelation that somebody has just started preaching. I believe in growing in revelation and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal new things to us, but not at the expense of letting our foundations of faith crumble away. A few days ago, I was on a flight and decided to listen to a message by my primary father in the faith, who is in Heaven now, Kenneth E. Hagin. I was so blessed and encouraged for the umpteenth time by listening to the series, How You Can Know the Will of God. It’s a basic foundational message to me. Every once in a while, I pull out some of these timeless messages and give myself a spiritual tune-up. I believe we should all do that in one form or another, especially from those that we consider to be true fathers in the faith.
I truly believe we are living in an exciting time. I believe that this year is going to bring with it many great things for you, even in spite of any challenge you may currently be facing or will ever face in the future. You have what it takes to face every challenge fearlessly and overcome any “bad break,” that life may try to throw your way.
This is an exciting year for Robyn and me. Thank you for continuing to pray for us, by sowing time in the spirit realm on our behalf. As you know, this past year brought us a “bad break” in Robyn’s physical and mental health, but we are continuing to make progress and win. When we were at our weakest, the power of the Holy Spirit has enveloped us and has and continues to walk us through, every step along the way. Life continues to go well for us here in Huntington Beach, and we expect nothing less knowing that we are in the perfect will of God. The Lord is so gracious and merciful to strengthen and help all of those who call out to Him in faith.
I hope to be producing and releasing some teaching videos soon to assist our friends and partners around the world. The world continues to call, and we are positioned to go as the Lord opens doors and He leads. I will update you more along these lines next month with a bit more details and specifics. In the meantime, thank you for believing in this ministry and our international call. Thank you for partnering with us as we take the gospel of Jesus into the world.
You are so very loved, valued, and appreciated. Together, we are making a difference.
We always win!
